UP FOR SALE IS A PROFESSIONALLY BUILT SHAFT ALIGNMENT TRAINER.
IT WAS MADE BY DESIGN ASSISTANCE CORPORATION.
IT IS 48" LONG X 12" WIDE X 16" TALL.
THIS UNIT IS USED. IT SHOWS SOME SLIGHT SIGNS OF USE, BUT IS NOT DAMAGED IN ANY WAY. IT IS FUNCTIONAL AND READY TO USE.
THIS TYPE OF TRAINER IS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE INDUSTRIAL MECHANICS (MILLWRIGHTS) TO PROPERLY ALIGN ELECTRIC MOTORS TO DRIVEN DEVICES WITH COUPLED SHAFTS SUCH AS PUMPS, BLOWERS, ETC. IN ORDER TO REDUCE DOWNTIME DUE TO WORN BEARINGS, MOTORS, AND PUMPS FROM MISALIGNED INSTALLATION.
THIS TRAINER IS A MOCK-UP. IT IS A SIMULATED MOTOR AND PUMP. IT IS MADE MOSTLY OF ALUMINUM. THE COMPONENTS ARE ADJUSTABLE AND ALLOW THE NESSASARY SHIMS TO BE INSTALLED TO PROPERLY ALIGN THE SHAFTS.
IT IS CAPABLE OF MULTIPLE TRAINING SCENARIOS.
THIS TYPE OF TRAINING DEVISE IS USED FOR EPRI (MILLWRIGHT MECHANIC) TESTING FOR SOME COMPANIES. IT WOULD BE VERY USEFULL TO TRAIN ON IT PRIOR TO TAKING SUCH A TEST. CHECK THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE, I WOULD RENT THIS UNIT.
This heavy-duty fixture allows for convenient training in the alignment of rotating equipment with multiple shafts.
Depicting a typical turbine driven pump or compressor arrangement with an intermediate parallel shaft gear box, this device allows for realistic training in this difficult alignment circumstance, as well as in, more common, two-element, spacer coupling, and "long shaft" alignment scenarios.
Incorporating many of the features of our basic alignment device, #208, on a larger 12" wide aluminum channel, this assembly provides a stable, durable environment for alignment training using all common alignment methods and equipment types.
* Heavy-duty, aluminum construction throughout.
* Allows for alignment using all common alignment methods.
* Adjustable shaft positioning allows for use of all common couplings, including "spacer-type" couplings.
* Welded aluminum "pump", "motor", and "gear box" elements.
* Multiple motor positions allow for offset, in-line and long span applications.
* Based on a standard centrifugal pump configuration, it has the "look" and "feel" of real equipment.
* Rigid, heavy-duty construction allows alignment to .001".
* Requires a minimal number of tools.
* Movable flanged bearings allow for the variation of angular and parallel offset misalignment in all directions.
* All fasteners easily accessible and replaceable.
* Steel threaded inserts at motor hold-down bolt locations.
* Replaceable shafts. Bent shafts are easily installed.
* Uses inexpensive size "A" shims.
* Provision for motor element and gear box element adjustment via jacking bolts.
* Provision for simulation of "soft foot".
* All components can be mounted on the DAC Electromechanical Integration Bench, #905.
