Hearing Loop Technologies Basics
All telephone manufactures are required to install an inductive loop in all telephones for those wearing a hearing aid. Hearing aids pick up this electromagnetic inductive audio field. When their hearing aids are switched from (M) Microphone to (T) Tele-Coil.( most call it (T) Telephone). The latest hearing aids are intuitive, and do not have an M/T switch. They switch automatically when in an electromagnetic inductive audio field.
On a larger scale the Public Address System, is connected to the ILD (inductive loop driver) which is connected to a hearing loop. Those that are wearing their hearing aid(s) will be able to hear inductively, directly and clearly (and I emphasize clearly). This is non evasive since those with hearing aids are all ready wearing their hearing aids. A headset and inductive receiver can be made available for those with a hearing disability that do not have hearing aids.

Approximately 60 % of the hearing aids presently are equipped with a telecoil, and this number increases each year or as the hearing aids are replaced. Most existing hearing aids can have a telecoil installed.
