These adaptors are for use in PCB's or prototyping boards (breadboards) and are manufactured to industrial quality, using a RoHS compliant hot air solder level process (HASL). These Pb-free adaptors have a shelf life comparable to leaded components.
The adaptors can be supplied with either turned pins suitable for insertion into an IC holder/direct board soldering; or with square pins suitable for proto-board insertion/direct board soldering. If you want turned pins, you must say so by leaving instructions to us in the comments box on the checkout procedure page. Otherwise, you will be sent square pins by default.
**POSTAGE ON EACH ADDITIONAL ADAPTER**
You can order as many adapters as we have in stock from this listing and yet still only pay for the cost of postage for the first adaptor. This is because the adaptors weight is almost negligible, and thus the increase in postage cost is very tiny compared to the combined value of all adapters ordered; basically we pay the additional cost!

The FTDI chip comes pre-soldered on an SSOP 28 Tirnadaptor, we cannot supply this product with pins unsoldered, as they are required to solder the chip to the adaptor.
Unless you want the chip sent unsoldered, then we will be able to send the pins unsoldered.
