MFJ 8322 - TRIPLE TRUNKING HANDHELD
This is a new in the box MFJ 8322
MFJ Triple Trunking Handheld Scanner (up to 1000 Frequencies)
The NEW MFJ-8322 Analog Trunking Scanner tunes 800 MHz public service bands and "trunks" analog Motorola (type I, II and hybrid), EDACS Wide and LTR systems. Most city and county Police/Fire/ Emergency services have moved from conventional VHF and UHF frequencies to 800 MHz multi-frequency trunked systems and monitoring them today requires a scanner that can change the receive frequency with each transmission - just like the police radio does!
Each service on a trunked system is assigned a "talkgroup ID" or TID. Today, scanning local public services is once again easy! Program in the trunked system frequencies, then enter the TID's you want to monitor - that's like plugging crystals in a scanner from many years ago - you select exactly what you want to monitor.
The MFJ-8322 has an alpha display, so you can program the name of the TID and know exactly what you are monitoring when it comes up in the display. Confirm your local system is compatible and analog (not digital) trunked at , most systems are analog. Not for digital trunked systems.
Of course, the MFJ-8322 handheld also tunes all the VHF and UHF bands. You can monitor favorite repeaters, NOAA Weather, Sky-warn, Business Bands, Aircraft, Marine - PLUS the 222-225 MHz ham band, Military Aircraft frequencies and the 1240 - 1300 MHz ham band, too!
Ready for all you want to monitor, the MFJ-8322 stores up to 1,000 frequencies, maximum 10 trunked systems and up to 1,500 total TID's. Enter your county FIPS code and hear only NOAA "SAME" alerts for your county.
The Spectrum Sweeper mode outclasses other scanner search features - with remarkable sensitivity, this mode rapidly searches for local transmitters of unknown frequency, finding, tuning and monitoring a nearby transmission in roughly 3/4 second. And if that's not the signal you were looking for, lock out the undesired frequency and search again - this cannot be done by competitive scanners.
PC Programming - to program local repeaters and even a couple of trunked systems including your favorite TID's - well, no problem, you can do that through the scanner keyboard.
Just select what you want to listen to, as many as hundreds of interesting frequencies to monitor all organized for you complete with descriptions .
BNC antenna connector, includes flex antenna and AC adapter/ charger; requires 4 AA Alkaline or NiMH batteries; NiMH charge automatically to full charge in the scanner when the adapter/ charger is attached. On/off/volume control and squelch control, 3.5 mm headset jack.
