Plug and Play PIR Motion Detector Sensor
The PIR Sensor is a Passive Infra Red motion detector sensor. Designed for object detection, its suitable range of detection is about 200cm to 5m. It is ideal for object detection project such as automation, robotics, home security project etc.
Packing: PVC bag, heat sealed.
- Allow for settling time (3-5 sec) when connect to power supply.
- This sensor will react to sudden change of surrounding temperature, such as moving body. hence its name motion detector
- It is very insensitive to black or dark dull surfaces.
- Cover unit with paper cone to reduce its viewing angle while testing or the outputs will drive you nuts.

This is a Passive Infra Red (PIR) sensor
PIR reacts to moving hot surfaces, such as moving body parts, a cup of hot Mocha passing by, or anything that is hot. ( Sounds familiar ?)
It needs to connect to a microcontroller for interfacing.
One thing about PIR is that it needs object to be warm and moving. Meaning if you stop moving, it will stop detecting you even if you are sweating hot. That makes it fun to use and to further study about this range of sensors.......
