Note: Two (2) Identical Connector Halves are required to make each quick connect/disconnect cable union.
These were acquired at a distributor closeout sale recently, and they were brand new in the original factory bags. They are made of solid brass (about 1-1/8 pounds each) and plated inside and out with pure silver. Now you can connect all your Christmas lights without worrying about overloaded connections. Actually, I think they were designed for connecting locomotive power cables, big generator sets, utility and industrial switchgear, transformers, and such. Should also work fine for really big welding cables.
To connect two halves, simply put the flat sides together at about a 90 degree angle, then rotate a quarter turn until they slide inside each other. There is no "male" or "female" to these. Thus, you'll never have to check and see if you have the right end, as any half can mate with any other half.
To attach them to your cable ends, just ram the wire into the connector body and beat it flat with a big rock. Or you could glob it full of epoxy and let it set overnight. But if you don't like to see massive sparks and people panicking, it would be best to use a crimper like the manufacturer suggests.

Included are: a unique pin and groove design for fast, positive terminal engagement with complete detachability; heavy duty brass construction with silver plating for high strength and excellent resistance against vibration...without sacrificing any current-carrying capacity; ability to accept multiple conductors of various types-stranded, solid or combinations of both; and an extended bell-mouth cable entry for small and medium cable sizes that permits easy insertion of leads and also gives added support for the terminated lead.
For ease and speed of application at the lowest installed cost, all AMPOWER quick disconnect terminals are terminated in the AMP hydraulic DYNA-CRIMP tools.
