Grease traps and intercepters are for removing and retaining grease from wastewater in kitchens and restaurants. The use of grease traps is standard health / safety code in most commercial food preparation applications. The GT-100 has a 100 lb grease capacity and is rated for 50 gallon per minute flow rate.
Greasetraps or interceptes are passive devices required by municipalities to stop grease, fat, oil, wax or debris from entering the city's sanitary sewer system. Grease traps are sized for the sinks they are connected to, and remove somewhere between 25-85% (55 % avg.) of grease from wastewater.
