This is an unused Electro Melt Furnace by Kerr model #13993 together with its manual. It has been inside its original box and stored in the garage for a good while for a hobby that never took place with metals. It serves no purpose to me and I know very little about this machine as it belonged to someone else.
The Kerr Electro Melt Furnace is designed for convenient electric melting of metals, providing melting temperatures up to 2000 degrees F. It is an ideal metal melting unit for casting as well as for alloying metals. The furnace, supplied with a special graphite crucible, features embedded elements in a molded ceramic fiber insulation. Chamber crucible interior dimensions are 1 - 7/8" in diameter by 5-1/4" depth. The graphite crucible has a melting capacity of 30 troy ounces gold, 25 troy ounces silver, 1 1/2 lbs. brass, and 8 ounces aluminium.
120V, 6.2 amps, 750 watts, Hz 50/60 phase 1.
