What is the minimum wire size for MTSRV32, 30AMP and MTSRV63, 60A transfer switches?
AWG No.10 for TW60, TW75, RW75, R90, TW90, RW90 and T90 Nylon
AWG No.6 for TW60 and AWG No.8 for RW65, TW75, R90, TW90, RW90 and T90 Nylon
For flexible cord such as Type SOW, SOJ, etc. consult your electrical code tables.
I have two identical motor pumps that I want to power up one at a time.
The motors are 220VAC plus ground, can I use this switch?
Yes you can. Make sure that the capacity of this switch is greater than the motors FLA or Full Load Amperes.
Also, your motor circuit should be protected by an overload relay and fuse/breaker. This switch is non-fusible.

I have two of 3 phase, 3 wire motor. Can I use this switch with power coming from one source?
Yes you can. Again, make sure that your motor protection is adequate, fuses/breaker
and overload relay is not part of this switch. This switch only transfer the feed from one source
to any motor you selected to run. This switch is non-fusible. Consult a qualified electrician for any questions.
Can I use this transfer switch outdoor?
No. This transfer switch is not to be used outdoor. For outdoor application, we have some
high quality boxes designed for outdoor use. These are rain tight. You have to punch your
own holes though. We also suggest putting caulking on mounting holes to prevent moisture
and water from creeping in. This is more expensive than a regular box. Contact us for details.
Using two power sources and one load, is there a potential to backfeed?
No. If you wire the system properly, there is no chance for the switch to backfeed.
The switch has an OFF position. This position is NEUTRAL. We call it BREAK BEFORE MAKE,
meaning disconnecting the first circuit before connecting to the next circuit. After thousands of
operation, there is a potential for the switch to jam but will still NOT backfeed. Do not attempt
to repair. De-energize all power sources and replace immediately.
