TELOS TWO PROVIDES SOLUTION FOR REMOTE PBX USERS
RTV Oost Finds: Telos TWO Hybrid Solves Common Home Studio Problem
Home Studio producers and talent remotely connected to office PBX systems have found an easy way to gain a long-sought capability: the ability to transfer calls directly from their studio hybrid to their office PBX systems.
This is the answer to our prayers, said Clemens Busscher, Technical Manager of RTV Oost in Hengelo, Netherlands. Transferring calls from the hybrid is a hot topic among broadcasters here, and the Telos TWO is the only hybrid we ve tested which can do so.
According to Busscher, many broadcasters in Holland and Germany use PBX systems on which home extensions can be created. This feature allows callers to be transferred to someone working in their home studio, and then let the call be transferred to the office when the interview is complete. Older hybrids accept calls can transferred from the PBX to the home studio, but cannot transfer calls back due to lack of DTMF tone generation capability. Third-party solutions are very expensive costing as much as 5,500 according to Dani l Geertsema of Media Utilities, Telos Systems representative for the Netherlands.
RTV Oost tested several brands of hybrids along with the Telos TWO. The hybrids were connected to a Philips 3000 SOHO PBX, one of the most common PBX's in Belgium and Holland for broadcast studio environments. Of all the hybrids tested, only the Telos TWO was able to transfer calls from the home extension back to the office PBX.
The Telos TWO is the world s first telephone hybrid that interfaces directly to digital telephone services. It connects directly to ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) phone lines, delivering consistently clean, clear caller audio by maintaining an all-digital path from the telephone provider s Central Office to the user s studio. Telos TWO supports two call circuits, and contains two hybrids for superior conferencing.
