This is a beautiful heavy duty microscope in very good condition for its age and usage. The microscope has under gone regular servicing from new. This would be an ideal microscope for the Biology/Medical student or serious amateur microscopist.
The microscope was made by Kyowa Optical Japan a manufacturer with a reputation for quality both mechanically and optically. The stand has coaxial course and fine focus controls with tension control to the left and a stage height preset. Viewing is by a monocular view head with a wide field WHE10x eyepiece the monocular can be fully rotated for discussion or locked. It is fitted with a quadruple ball bearing objective changer with original Kyowa DIN Standard A Series SemiPlan objectives: A4x 0.10na (wide field scanning lens), A10x 0.25na, A40x 0.65na and A100x Oil Immersion. It has a built-in pendant control mechanical stage to allow precise movement of the specimen under the high power objectives. Beneath the stage is a rack and pinion focused Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and a 32mm filter holder. Illuminator is a variable QI 6v 20w with brightness control and a separate on/of switch. The body is in remarkably good condition.
Magnifications generated: 40x, 100x, 400x and 1000x - but remember magnification can easily be produced it s the resolution that matters and this microscope gives excellent resolution.
Supplied with the instrument is a set of easy to follow instructions for getting the most out of the instrument.
