We have tested this item and found that it will not start. Compression feels good, the motor turns over easy, but it is either getting no fuel or no spark. We tested the ignition circuit with a multimeter while cranking, and found that when bypassing the plug (meter contacting the plug socket and the cylinder head) the ignition system gives a voltage spike while turning over. However, placing the meter between the boot and the plug gave no detectable spike. So it would seem that the spark plug is faulty.
Please be aware that there could very well be more wrong with this saw than just the spark plug. It could have a weak ignition coil, or there could also be a problem with the carburetor.
Please note that the anti-vibration bushings in this saw are well-worn and so there is a lot of slop between the handle and the saw. Bushings will probably need to be replaced before use.
