UPDATE: Two were used as base stations. These have been tested as follows:
Lights come on and the beep. When the Mic button is pressed there is a low pitch buzz sound. I presume these are functional based upon that level of testing. The third unit, the light comes on but there is no beep and no buzz upon pressing the mic button. Possibly a speaker problem?

Oh yeah ... there is one owners manual which will be included in the box. It is abit stained.
