10 small dc motors .5 to 9 volts.work for generators

Hi All. Up for sale are 10 small dc motors for $6, that's 60 cents each. I bought these for a project and got a good deal. Thought I would pass it along. They are designed to run at 3 volts. The body is .79 inches x 1.27 inches. The shaft is .058 inch diameter x .41 inches long. I ran one at 20 volts and loaded it down to 1.25 amp for a while (The limit of my supply). I took it apart to see the damage and was amazed. A carbon brush motor would have been fried. Picture at: http:// /~snyder/Motor/motorV.jpg
Did some testing with an oscilloscope/power supply and came up with this:
Above 9 volts there was variations in speed. This data was taken with no load.
I hooked 2 motors together in a motor/generator configuration and got this data:
motor input generator output with no load
I don't have a way to measure torque but at 5 volts and 1 amp, the friction will burn your fingers if you try to stop the shaft.
A more detailed description is at http:// /PDFDocs/DCMotors.pdf The motor is nearly identical with the A-229.
The mounting screw size is 2m fine (63 threads/inch)
