1) Using the depth control fixture, screw the special "scored screw" into the hardwood floor .
2) When the screw head hits the top of the fixture, the pressure will build and the screw will snap 1/8 inch below the surface of your floor.
3) The result has the mechanical holding strength of a screw, leaving a hole the size of a countersunk finish nail. Simply fill the hole with wood filler or putty, and you'll have 2 inches of hidden screw permanently getting rid of your squeek problem.
