6 indian runner duck eggs (fertile purebred hatching)
Funny and beautiful, these Indian Runner ducks also pay for themselves.
Their eggs sell for 10.00 a dozen on the street. Online I see them selling for 45.00DZ. Ducklings sell easily on Craigslist 3 for $25
These ducks are some of the most prolific egg laying ducks - 200 - 300 ++ eggs a year. They are runners and not flyers...and funny to watch and easy to pen.
They love the cold and my ducks are happy and healthy. Indian Runner ducks tend to be disease resistant and are easily trained to go to different areas of a property. They are often herded to water or the woods to forage.
I don't have to herd mine, I open the gate and they take themselves to the lake and come home in mid-afternoon.
In these times of economic crisis it is nice to have a certain source of good food.
Duck eggs are nutritionally healthier and more versatile then chicken eggs. They are used by pastry chefs bc they make baked goods rise better. I love the way my quiche turn out.
ALL...My ducks are all new stock from McMurray's hatchery. I have numerous varities of chickens and pheasants, but only one breed of duck. That way they can be free range and purebred.
My flock is purebred Fawn, Blues, & Chocolates and are under one year old (younger ducks have healthier offspring)
Runner ducks are safe around children, unlike chickens or geese who might attack. These ducks are not aggressive which helps make them easily herded too.
Two years ago we had 14 ducks, this year I have over 300 and counting... do the math invest in ducks, they will make you smile....
I take great care in packaging each egg, I think of them as live little duckies and pappoose each one in bubblewrap for their ride to your house....
one of many unsolicited responses about my duck's eggs
I just wanted to thank you for such wonderful eggs. Out of the 12 you sent me 8 hatched and one is still trying to (It has been over 24 hours so I think I will help it by the end of the day but I have chicks hatching in the bator today and dont want to lift the lid just yet to help it) but even if the 9th duck does not survive I have 8 perfect duclikngs. 2 silver ones and 6 yellow. They are soooo cute and doing really well I posted pics in BYC if you would like to see here is the link.
