This is the controller board as fitted to the BV4512 Graphic displays. It is designed to control that display which is based on the KS0108B graphics controller. The firmware can either be loaded with an I2C to Graphics translation or VT100 (serial) to graphics translation. This item if the the I2C version. To see if this will match your display see this datasheet. PLEASE NOTE THIS TYPE OF DISPLAY VARIES CHECK THAT THE CONTROLLER PIN OUTS MATCH YOUR DISPLAY BEFORE PURCHASE.
This controller provides the following:
1. An I2C interface and command recognition
2. An interface to the Graphics controller with Back light and contrast control
3. Simple graphics drawing facilities
4. A text font, character set
The power (5V) and signals are all conveyed over a single 4 wire connection.
The datasheet shows the physical specification for this board. The commands and firmware usage is shown in the datasheet for the graphics display.
