Surface mount converter soic 8 jedec and eiaj standard
Converts a standard SOIC 8 surface mount (SMT) IC to 0.3" wide Dual-In-Line (DIL) format at 0.1" pitch pin spacing. This adaptor can take narrow (JEDEC) OR wide (EIAJ) body SOIC 8 formats.
These adaptors are for use in PCB's or prototyping boards (breadboards) and are manufactured to industrial quality, using a RoHS compliant hot air solder level process (HASL). These Pb-free adaptors have a shelf life comparable to leaded components.
The EIAJ SOIC8 standard with an overall width of up to 8.26mm ( confusingly referred to as the narrow body standard, due to the body of the chip being narrower than the JEDEC standard) and the JEDEC SOIC8 standard with a body with up to 6.2mm overall width (referred to as the wide body standard).
The SOIC 8 you see in this listing is BOTH THE WIDE BODY STANDARD AND NARROW BODY STANDARD.
