Firefighter's A Hood Release Tool designed to trip cable operated automotive hood latches from the exterior of the car.
The heat of Car fires and wrecks frequently stretch or distress the actuating cable of a hood latch due to heat rendering it inoperable.
This tool was designed to allow Firefighters and other emergency response personnel to trip the latch and open the hood from the exterior of the car in just a few seconds. Very useful for car fires and extrications.
About 21 inches long, heat treated steel with nickle corrosion-resistant platiing and a sliding Tee-handle for best leverage.

Caution: Usage will destroy a cable and mandate its replacement or repair. Practice only on salvage cars!
These tools were widely sold to good reviews during the mid-late 1990's. The original manufacturer is out of business. Recently I have found some several hundred quantity left in NOS inventory.
All in new condition but with slight rubbing marks on the plating. Each includes a copy of the original instruction manual.
