Pulse Start fixtures feature lamps that maintain their brightness for a longer period. These also put off more lumens than conventional "probe" start metal halide. Quartz restrike feature: after light has been energized, if power is lost and then turns back on the quartz light will provide light during the cool down period that the metal halide light is unavailable.
