* This model machine was used extensively in WW2 to make lots of items from uniforms to light leather goods. There are lots of comments online regarding the use of this machine for leather.
* Includes a heavy butcher block table with 120V motor (with switch), treadle controlled clutch, presser foot knee lift, and vintage task lamp.
* Recovered from an estate storage. Although I think it's a solid machine overall, and it comes with a decent table and other parts, it could use some cleaning and servicing and it needs some minor parts (see below). I think it could be great if all cleaned up and especially if the the table is refinished.
* Mechanical: The motor powered up and ran fine. The threadle engaged the friction clutch successfully and the belt turned the machine, which moved the needle up and down, and the feed dog (I think that's what it's called) moved back and forth (is that also called a walking foot?). I think the belt could stand to be replaced. The knee lever that lifts the presser foot worked fine (although the knee pad is somewhat dried out). I would say it's probably been quite some time since the machine was serviced and oiled (I believe I can hear the linkage inside working, and I suspect it would be quieter if oiled), so I would certainly have that done. I don't see any spool pins, just empty red-colored holes. A needle is needed as well as a presser foot. Also the plate I think gives you access to the bobbin is rusty and won't move for me, so it needs to be cleaned up or replaced and I don't know what the condition of the bobbin case is, so a replaement may be needed.
* Table: The table wood is solid but somewhat worn. I think it would be great if refinished. The base needs to be sanded and painted to look good. It has some peeling paint and a bit of surface rust on it. The pan that sits under the machine is fairly rusty and delicate and may need attention.
* The task lamp is nice looking, even with the oxidation to the finish. I didn't test it, so it may need wiring for all I know, but that's a simple thing. It needs a small bulb.
* Finally, the machine's hinges are lacking their screws, so new screws are needed.
