Boulder Nonlinear Systems 128x128 SLM Spatial Light Modulator
For sale- a Boulder Nonlinear Systems 128x128 SLM Analog Spatial Light Modulation.System. Actually the manual says Spatial Light modulator on it, but I think that refers to the main piece, lower right in the picture of the case and contents, and all by itself in the second picture. But as you can see I have much more to offer than just that.
In addition to the SLM unit, I have the 128 Driver Board leaning up against the manual in the back, plus the BLINK software on CD and the BNS driver software on 3 floppy. And a couple of ribbon cables as well. So a complete system I think. What I am not so sure about is whether the software would be compatible with today s Windows operating systems. It had a sticky note on it that said Windows NT Only, but that probably meant it was engineered for NT rather than earlier versions. Later versions might work too. Might not.
The driver board is mentioned in the manual as taking up an ISA slot, and I am not enough of a computer kind of guy to know if that is still a slot that might be available in a contemporary computer. If not you would either need to use an older computer with it or source a new board to work with the computer of your choice.
BNS is still around, so perhaps you could get some support from them if you had to have it, but most tech companies are more interested in selling the latest model than fidgeting with the older stuff, so I wouldn t count on it. There was a note in the manual that the 512x512 version was almost $20K, but I haven t been able to find anything in the way of a price on this one, new, used, or otherwise. The system is untested, and no warranty is offered.
