*This is a remanufactured engine with:
Electric glow plugs for easy starting
.10 x .10 magnafluxed induction hardened crankshaft
Is fitted with offset wristpins/gudgeon pins in pistons for more torque and horsepower (53 HP)
New valves and guides - valves & seats have been handlapped to ensure proper contact
It has been run on our test stand at 2000 RPMs for more than three hours to begin seating rings and check for proper operation of fuel system, cooling system & lubricating system.
(Engine at operating temperature (180 degrees) carries 60 plus pounds of oil pressure & 30 plus pounds at idle.
Mechanically governed DPA fuel injection system (injection pump & injectors have been throroughly checked and cleaned.)
Engine is rated at 53 BHP according to factory manual & develops 83 ftlb of torque
Extra heavy duty Delco 27MT starting motor
*This unit should be suitable for most applications: industrial/refrigeration/automotive/marine etc.
*There is an $900.00 Refundable core charge if a rebuildable core is returned in 30 days in the original crate. Otherwise core charge is forfeited.
*Upon request I will include a photocopy of complete factory workshop manual for 4.108, 4.107, & 4.99 diesel engines. Also upon request, I will send a photocopy of CAV Distributor Type Injection Pump Type DPA Instruction Book because the factory manual has very little information on mechanically governed pumps.
*This unit sells new at Perkins Engines Ltd. (when available) in excess of $5000 with a $3000 core charge in long block form (does not include starting motor, flywheel, bell housing.)

Wet sleeves instead of dry reboarable sleeves
Does not come equipped with induction hardened crankshaft that is fitted to the 4.108
And according Perkins factory, is unable to turn as high and develops less horsepower.
