Corporate Seal Company Seal Notary Seal Embosser
A corporate seal is a device made to either emboss or imprint company information onto documents having legal effect. The purpose of a corporate seal is to attest in a formal manner to the execution of a document. This information contained on corporate seals includes the company's legal name, year and state of formation.
Corporate seals are still used for many purposes by corporations and limited liability companies today:
* Documents which need to be executed as deeds (as opposed to simple contracts), may be executed under the company's common seal.
* Certain corporate documents, for example share certificates are often issued under the company seal (and some countries required that share certificates be issued under the common seal).
* In several states, a corporate seal is a prerequisite to opening a bank account.
