These are ideal for applications where a contact tachometer will not reach or would be unsafe to use. You simply stick some of the supplied reflective material to the moving part and point the tachometer at it. The tachometer reads how often the reflective tape passes in a given time and calculates the rpm.
It has a resolution of 0.1 upto 999.9rpm and of 1 for 1000rpm and up
