HP 4195a Network / Spectrum / Impedance Analyzer
The HP 4195a is an intelligent Network, Spectrum, and Impedance analyzer combined into a single instrument
The 4195a can control 3 test parameters: Frequency, test signal amplitude, and DC bias voltage.
Any one of the 3 can be swept while the other 2 parameters are held at a fixed value.
7-1/2" color display with Rectangular, Table, Smith and Polar display formats
Up to 4 different color traces displayed
The 4195a is the predecessor to the 4395a. The picture of the chart from Agilent shows the differences.
This unit has option 001, High Stability Frequency Reference
Frequency: 10Hz to 500MHz, 0.001 Hz resolution
Power: -50 dBm to + 15 dBm, 0.1 dB resolution
Sweep Parameters: Frequency, Power, and DC Bias level.
Sweep Types: Linear, Log, cw, program, and partial.
DC Bias level: +/- 40V, 0.01V resolution
Resolution Bandwidth: 3Hz to 300 kHz, 1 or 3 step
Magnitude Ratio Dynamic range >100 dB with 0.001 dB resolution
Phase: +/- 180 degrees with 0.01 degree resolution
Delay : 10 ps to 500 s with 10 ps resolution
Frequency measurement range 10 Hz to 500 MHz
Resolution: RBW 3 Hz to 300 kHz 1 or 3 step
Amplitude : -135 dBm to +20 dBm
Sweep: Linear, Log, cw, program and partial, Modes: continuous, single, manual
The Instrument can also make impedance measurements if you obtain a 41951a impedance adapter

I have tested the Source at several frequencies and amplitudes, and they were correct
I have checked the DC source at several voltages and they were correct.
I have sent the instrument commands by the HPIB, and it responded correctly.
I have written to and read from the floppy disk and it worked properly,
No other tests have been performed on the instrument
This unit is good cosmetically, with some scratches on the front, and some dings and scuffs on the case.
Comes with a CD with copy of operation & service manuals (PDF), power cord, interconnect cables between the Control unit and the measurement unit
