* To fill an entire row of dimples made by screws and nails in one pass. The nailspotter is the most versatile tool in the lineup today, and the oldest; it was introduced in 1933.
* Each row of dimples can be filled in one pass. Sometimes a second pass is needed to fill the X on screws.
* No more bending over to wipe the bottom row, and no more scaffolding or stilts to reach the top row. Dimples at the top and the bottom of the wall can all be filled from a standing position
