Ideal for Gem & Jewelry Inspection! This microscope is ideal for inspecting and grading gemstones and jewelry. The microscope comes with a gem and specimen tweezer clamp and a dark field condenser. The dark field condenser assures that any light emitted from the lower light source passes through the specimen for optimal viewing. That is, no light rays from the lower light source travel directly into the objective or your eye unless they pass through the specimen first. This enables you to view gemstones and other translucent objects without the visual distraction of ambient light entering your eye . . . only light that has passed through the gemstone will be visible to you.
