* Clean and bevel the weld area
* Use CHAMFER ARC for grooving
* Drill small holes at each end of cracks to stop further cracking
* Preheat is not necessary on ductile & gray cast iron or thin sections
* Preheat of 400 F - 500 F is suggested for welding heavy castings
* Run stringer beads or slight weave
* Short deposits, no longer than 1 1/2
* Peen each bead while still hot
