Q- hi do you have to touch the item or can you hold the thermometer some way away from it to get a reading 6ins to a foot ? thanks terry -
Answer- The thermometer reads the Infra red emissions from the surface of an object this is relative to the temperature and reads acroos rooms etc.
Q- would this instrument let me point it at my house from outside and see the hot spots and cold spots, ie test the roof and window heat emissions. - N Carmichael
