Wwii vintage aircraft tools buckeye 90 deg. angle drill

Aliening Model "A" Serial No. 44250
This is an original Buckeye drill made in Dayton, Ohio. Buckeye Tool Corporation was bought by Rockwell in 1962 and later taken over by Cooper Tools. They are the highest quality pneumatic tools made going back to WWI. I've tracked this one back to the Grumman, Bethpage, New York plant in 1942. Grumman was furiously stepping up production to keep up with the demand for its naval aircraft in the Pacific. I'd like to have seen the planes it was used on. I acquired it with some other aircraft tools from an estate sale. When I disassembled it for cleaning, the o-rings in the throttle and speed control just crumbled to dust. After a thorough cleaning and lubing, its good to go. Because of it age, I didn't test this drill as rigorously as I do my other items. The speed control and throttle operate like new without leaks or other bad characteristics and the angle head is true with no runout or wobble. Its a nice piece of history and it still operates flawlessly. Thanks for checking it out!
