The Wescor 5500 osmometer determines osmolality at room temperature with the sample in natural equilibrium. What you don't get are cryoscopic artifacts due to high viscosity, suspended particles, or other conditions that interfere with freezing point determinations. The superbly accurate 5500 osmometer has a much broader range of error-free applications.
